Unique Estate Items...

I went to walk with a friend recently and found her sifting through items that had been set out front of her neighbors home for garbage.  Of course, I joined her and there were treasures to be found.  This beautiful hand crotcheted spread was tied up neatly in a bag...

Here is close-up of the design.  Plus it has hand tied fringe around three edges.

Also found this very large, 1200 piece wood whimsie puzzle titled "Aurora".  Do not think this is the original box and do not know if all the pieces are present, but look at just a few of the whimsical puzzle pieces....

I think it is from the 1950's, but could be earlier.

Also found this black scrap book with 40's and 50's keepsakes.  A few are standing in front of the scrapbook... and a 1950's kids' book titled "Loony Coon".

These two framed prints were also rescued.  One is a lithograph - the fox hunt. It is only about an 8x10 print.

However, this larger framed print is nearly 2'x3'.  The frame is in rough condition, but the print looks good.

Puzzle and spread will most likely be posted on Ebay.  Not sure about the rest.

You just never know when and where you will stumble upon treasures.  Keep your eyes open! :)

  1. Wow! It's crazy some of the things people just don't want to bother with and set out for garbage. So glad your friend was there to rescue these treasures!!

  4. Wow! makes me want to dig in my neighbors trash- ha ha- but I don't think I'll be as lucky. I think I'd faint if I found that bedspread or puzzle curbside.
