Odd Finds and Buying Stainless for Resale...
Anyone know what it is? It is vintage and a rose in lucite, but what is it's function and when was it made are my questions? Thought it might be a paperweight, but why the indented top with a teardrop lucite piece across? I have seen plenty of jewelry made of these components, but never this particular item.
UPDATE...just found it when I did a search for
"vintage rose lucite vanity"... it is an eyeglass holder. Also found out lucite was invented in 1931, used to make items for war and after WWII began being used to make jewelry and other everyday items. So guess this little cutie was probably made in the late 40's or 50's some time.
If you can find nice stainless for a deal you can make some money on it. Replacements.com charges so much that prices on Ebay make it a steal.
