Jerry Roupe VIntage Gnomes Linen Wall Hanging - Towel

Found this sweet vintage Jerry Roupe Linen Gnomes art towel at a thrift store yesterday.  I was so excited about it and then noticed these when I got home with it...

UPDATE:  This sold with Buy It Now option in less than 24 hours for $24.99. Hmmm... should I have made it auction only?  Still, happy with my profit though.

The color is a little faded in an area at the bottom and...

There were these tiny spots on the left corner...

Also, there was some quite thick sticker goo in one corner.  Tried to remove it with Dryel (at home drycleaning solution), which faded another spot slightly.  However, it is in otherwise good condition - no tears or wear. I may list it on Ebay. They seem to be selling well. I will make sure to describe and picture the flaws.

  1. Hi there :)
I'm curious to know what your little towl went for??
I just got home from the GoodWill, where I found the exact same towel. I had a feeling it might be worth something, so I did a search on Ebay and see that the last one sold for $53.99. I paid 2.99, and it's not faded at all but does have one little wax spot that I need to work on.
Isn't it so fun when you find something like this?

  2. I wouldn't "work on the wax spot". That is how I caused more damage to my towel. Mine went for $24.99 as is. My suggestion is to just take close-up pics of any stains or wear and post them with your auction. They do go for a nice price - even with issues. Thanks for stopping by my blog. :)

  3. This is actually art that you put on the wall. My grandmother made it. I'm really curious how this ended up in the US!
We hang ours on the wall every year for Christmas.
