Takethemameal.com ... a blessing to the giver and the recipient ...

I underwent surgery last week and a dear friend offered to coordinate having meals brought to my home.  She found a site titled takethemameal.com. Participants may log on using the recipient family's name and a password and sign up for a specific day to share a meal.  It must have saved hours in phone calling for my friend who was coordinating and made is so easy for others to sign in and sign up.  Thought I would share this information for everyone to use.  Hope it is helpful.

Going through this surgery and some of the unknowns has opened my eyes to how many wonderful people God has placed in my life.  So many friends signed up to bring meals to our home.  We will probably have food through March and then some still in the freezer.  And they did not just bring some spaghetti and bread.  We're talking meat, bread, salad, drinks, dessert ... the works.   Others brought gift bags, cookies and flowers.  Long distance friends emailed or Facebooked to check on us and tell us they were praying.

Thank you, dear friends, for your support, encouragement and prayers.  God is so good.  He has blessed me through you and in having you as my friends.  May you experience His richest blessings in life.  Love to you all!

Little Dresses for Africa ....

Little Dresses for Africa is a non-profit group that collects dresses, most made from pillowcases, to take or send to the children in the orphanages of Africa.  They also collect shorts for little boys.  What a great project for a girl scout troop and any group of girls or ladies.

Their blog address is:

http://www.littledressesforafrica.org/blog/

Check it out when you get a chance and see if it is a good service project fit for you or someone you know.  They give instructions on the site on how to make dresses from pillow cases. Also, there are several other patterns for the same online if you just type in "pillowcase dress pattern" in the Google or other search engine search bar.

Hope you are enjoying a beautiful March! Blessings, Leah :o)

Beauty in the smallest things...

Isn't it amazing how God includes such beauty in even the smallest of His creations?  Pictured is a Monarch chrysalis.  Not only is the Monarch butterfly beautiful, but it's chrysalis is a gorgeous jade green, trimmed in gold.

Another example are seashells.  Each is designed meticulously, it does not matter that no one may ever see them.  One is challenged to take this lesson to heart, putting their best work into something whether or not it will be noticed by others.  After all, we are creators also, made in His image.  May we take care to create beauty in the smallest of our endeavors.
