Thrifty Friday Finds

1940's? North Star Wool Blanket, VGC
Here are pics of a few of my thrifty Friday finds as well as some thrift store loot (of course I paid for it, so it is not really loot).  How'd you do this past week?  Any great finds you would like to share?

The North Star Woolen Company moved from Minnesota to Ohio in 1947 and changed their name.  So I know the blanket is no more recent than the 40's.  It has the North Star tag.
Shabby wall art

Syracuse China.  Can't find pattern or date.
Sweet Shabby plant stand

File and Drawer units... great for storage.

  3. Good haul for you this week Leah. I especially like the little drawer units. I'm a sucker for woollen blankets too. Only thing is they can mostly be found in a heap being sold as dog blankets so you have to get there first. My dog prefers polyester fleece to wool and it's a bit easier to wash and dry too. I found a woollen pastel stripe one this year, the most lovely thing, with the label Golden Fleece. I use it on my garden swing seat.

  5. So, Barb, living in Florida I might get to use that wool blanket for a month this year. Probably should sell it on Ebay, but may just put it in the cedar chest to wait for December and January. Do you have a pic of your blanket to post? Maybe even one of it on your garden swing. Have a great day! :)
