Reselling Vintage and Antique Furniture...

It's amazing how mentioning I have a booth in an antique market can provide product to sell.  The antique 1800's kitchen work table and chairs in pic #1 were on consignment from my hairdresser.  They sold in less than a month and I got what I was asking for them.  Also sold the green hutch to another vendor in the shop.

For a couple of days I used two non-vintage bookshelves to house my wares... pic #2.  It felt a little bare after having the table and chairs.  I was on the look out for a replacement display piece.

Saturday when I was running other errands I stopped at an Estate Sale near home and found a beautiful, mid-century dining set and hutch by Unique Furniture Makers of Winston-Salem, NC... Pic #3. There are six chairs and a leaf with the table. They read "ASH" on the bottom.  The hutch is matching, so assume it is made of ash as well.  It is gorgeous.  If the table had been bigger I would have been tempted to keep the set.

I love this job... buying beautiful things and getting them to homes where they will be appreciated.  I also love the creative and social aspect of reselling in rented space and recommend it to people who have collected more cool stuff than they can house. :)

Reselling Vintage - Antique Art...

Max Streckenbach Poppies & Lilacs Print

Aquatint Etching (?), Signed Nimsy (?) Dupont (looks like an original
I have shared recently about reselling items which belonged to a friend of mine's mother-in-law.  The lady was 104 years old when she passed away a couple of years ago.  In her belongings were pieces that were passed down from her ancestors... most of those have been sold already, but now I am learning about the resell of vintage or antique art.  I brought home three framed pieces. One was a 1933 framed sampler, which I have placed in my booth.

The other pieces are pictured here.  The poppies print was actually covering up the below possible Aquatint Etching.  The poppies photo above is pretty true to the colors, but the aquatint is behind glass and the shot does not show the beauty of the colors.  It is a gorgeous piece and an original, I believe.

The original oil painting of doves in front of a tower was painted by a friend of the lady.  Her name was Irma Rosenau.  She was from the Philadelphia area and there are currently painting awards given in her honor. I have contacted the Art Center she was instrumental in establishing to ask if they are interested in procuring it.  We shall see what happens there.
"Wings" Original Oil by Irma Rosenau
I have  placed the poppies print on eBay and have the aquatint priced to put in my booth.  I find it interesting learning about new areas in vintage resell.  Never thought art would be one of them. :)

Vintage Resale and Growth...

I've been in my booth at College Park Antique Market five and a half months now and really loving it!  April was a record month in sales, which was welcomed after worst ever March sales.  Other months were fair in revenues.

I am finding I have more vintage/antique stuff than room in my booth so decided to graduate to a larger one.  My blog photo is of my new booth.  Pretty pink, heh?  That wall is concrete block and I did not want to be drilling holes in it constantly, thus the peg board.  Pink was suggested by the shop owner, which I loved and jumped at the chance to add a 50's shade of that glorious color.

We are preparing for a Vintage Wedding Event this Saturday, May 18, from 10AM till 6PM.  Booth vendors will be adding wonderful vintage and antique items that could be used for a wedding reception or other celebratory occasion.

In addition to our regular booth vendors, representatives from Vintage Chic Affairs, Art Faulkner Photography and Fairbanks Florist will be present with samples of their wares and information on their services.  I hear there may even be wedding cake samples... not sure how firmed up that arrangement is yet.
If you know someone who is getting married soon let them know about this great event.

We have fabulous vintage, antique and collectible treasures for every time of life... in stock... all the time.  If  you haven't made your way in yet, we would love to see you. We have a great variety of reasonably priced vintage treasure!

Thrifting Vintage for Resale (if I don't keep it for myself :)

40's ? Ceramic Rooster from Japan
Still been out and about thrifting here and there.  Thrift stores on my way to and from other tasks and garage sales on Friday mornings (Saturdays sometimes, too, if I can sneak away for a bit).  Here are a pics of a few of my recent finds...

Milk glass vases and green fish bottle may be used at my daughter's wedding. Fenton vase, Japanese wood canisters.

Sales at the College Park Antique Market look great for this month, which is needed after slim sales in March.

Hope you are enjoying a lovely spring!

Antiques, Vintage and More...

 College Park Antique Market
had a Side Walk Sale on Saturday.  I stopped by to take a few pics... here's one...
I love having a booth in this sweet shop!  The owner, Kelly McConnell, sponsors a special sale of some sort at least once a month.  There have been two in April.  In May she is having a wedding themed sale.  She has invited a business that provides vintage style decor for weddings/receptions. She is asking the vendors to bring in any items that could be used for the same.  Kind of a fun challenge, I think.

The rest of these pics are from inside the shop.  We have a great bunch of vendors! Great diversity and creative display. I am so enjoying having a booth here.  If you are in the area, please come check us out... 4321 Edgewater Drive, Orlando, FL... at the intersection of Fairbanks and Edgewater.

Beautiful, Green Florida... and Thrifting / Reselling

Been taking sweet granddaughter for walks when I take care of her.  Took some pics of all the lovely Florida green that surrounds me.  I complain a lot about the heat and humidity, but I do so love the abundance of green it creates. That and all the sunshiny days are a wonderful blessing for which I am very thankful!  My walking buddy is pictured at the end of the post... she's a little sunshine, too. :)

I'm still thrifting and reselling.  Graduating up to a larger booth at College Park Antique Market. They are having a Sidewalk Sale today, so if you are in the Orlando area, stop by and check it out.  Still doing a few sales on eBay as well.
